  • The black and white are fabulous. I've never seen brick barns before. Do you have any idea why brick was used? I'm planing a trip to McComb, IL to do the round barns in the area. Will try raw so I have both color and b/w. Bob Myers

  • Very nice photos. I actually grew up at 1260 Allerton Road, which had probably the largest barn (not stone), mostly wood. It's still there today and you can see it as soon as you turn on Allerton. It also used to have the oldest winmill in Chester County until it fell down about 20 years ago. The farms in these pics are not anywhere on Allerton that I'm aware of, unless I've lost my memory :)

  • Hi Bill: What an awsome collection of old barns. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting your albums. Just started my own collection but have a long way to go to match yours. Thanks for sharing. Dave from Mississippi

  • I am three times luckier today for having discovered your sight....one, I love black and white photos as I do colored ones, two - I enjoy learning about the history of people, places, things; and three, barns fascinate me. Don't know why, but I love seeing them and looking at them in pictures. Thanks a lot for sharing your lovely collection. ... princess (california)

  • You have the best collection of barn photographs. Don't know how or when you find the time, but you know all the right places to hit.

  • The barns out at Wawaset look as though they may be around Wawaset Road and or Allerton Road? There are plenty of barns around there......including Georgia Farm. I must send this to a friend...she grew up on Allerton in Wawaset. Thank You for sharing! Sharon from PA
