Thank you for all the messages you knindly left on my first album guestbook, those photos are not great quality as i didn't have a digital camera back then.. some photos are 20 years old! I always used and still use to wait the right moment to make a photo in order not to have many people in it! your albums open my eyes to places i'll never go to unfortunately, thank you again Lucia

Hi dear... it's always a pleasure to rediscover your work (even if I've already been there). There has been a kind of "exodus" two years ago from WS to RR, you and I belong to that movement. It seems, now that WS has really improved the community facilities that the "exodus" goes the opposite way! Especially since RR mods are practising a kind of "blind censorship". Our friend JP (DELMUR) is now a member of this community. I think you should have a look on his "Burma" album. As you already know, JP was one of the very best members in RR, I guess we should "welcome" him the way he deserves it!... about me... well, I don't have the choice now. I guess I opened my mouth one time too much, "they" have decided I wasn't "welcome" any more and my account has been banned. I will try to get more involved in WS community now. Which means trying to re-contact my 2 years old friends and have fun with their photos. See you soon... pp (ps don't forget to visit JP's collection).

Hi, Suresh thansk you for your kind words on my Shan album. I have not been active too much on this website, so only saw your message a year after you sent. Your pictures certainly bring me back to this most special place, which i visited again this year in february. i had this time better equipment, and took my photography a step up. I'd be most flattered if you looked at my new account on Pbase.com, under the same name kinginexile. I have just started a gallery there, but there is already plenty of shots from Myanmar, and more to come. Apologies for being late in acknowledging your note. cordially, herve

Hi, while entering some comments on someone else's guestbook I ran into your name and I came to take a look. I'm glad I did! This is a magnificent slice of Burmese like. Your pictures are technically excellent, but in addition, the subject matter comes across in such a loving way that the images become gripping. Thank you very much, Paul in Florida. P.S. Your cover shot of the young Pa-O girl reminded me of the now famous Afghani girl on the cover of National Geographic.

Hi Suresh. Another stunning album of breathtaking images of an exotic and far-away land. Thankyou for sharing it with us, in all it's glory. wonderful photography......But something else is emerging! Your talent for taking natural portraits of every-day people, and giving them such serenity and inner beauty, leaves me absolutely breathless! -lost for words,- You have such a wonderful gift there. Such a delight to view. Have you considered making an album of just portraits that you can add to as you get more? I'm putting in a special request, if you would like to take it up! You are so talented. Such a pleasure to view your photos, always lovely surprises. Keep up the good work, my friend. special greetings, from Sheila.

Hi Suresh! This is a fantastic album, I like it so much, and I recognize the photos that our friend Anna put in her Community collection album. Perhaps I like it because the country of Burma looks like - at least from your photos- like Thailand, which I visited earlier this year. I think you are a world-class photographer, and you should consider becoming a professional. Your Iceland and Tuscany photographs are great. Thanks for the gorgeous scenery. IT looks really good on a slideshow. Best Regards from Majed in Texas.

Suresh. Thank you for allowing me to do a watercolor from one of your pictures in the photo albums. I found nothing wrong with you picking the albums you wanted me to choose from, as perhaps they have special meaning to you. And now I will spend the next couple of days trying to pick one among all your GREAT photo's. Perhaps one thing, you said you did WC years ago, well so did I when I was much younger, and just picked them back up within the last 14 months, I thought that was something I couldn't do again, but it felt good to give it a try. One more thing, do you have a particular photo or two that you would like to see done? You've given me so much pleasure is seeing things I will never see, that I would love to paint, one that is important to you. Melody

Dear Suresh. One of the guys listed in my "favorit members collection" who disagreed with this idea made a copyright violation report instead of asking me to remove his reference. So, webshots have simply deleted this album without taking care about its purpose. So, please, as I really like the idea to refer to your pages, come and choose one of my "mini-cars&q uot; (with a destination), and I'll mention your homepage. Thanks, pp

Their smiles are so genuine and inviting. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful album of your ( what must have been an amazing ) trip! Little envious i might say!

Hi Suresh, Thank you for stopping by at my site. You are too kind. Congratulations on participating in Anna's 2nd Gallery. Both pictures are gorgeous. You sure know how to capture people. Yes, you are right, they are the soul of every region, - but I till now did not much photograph people. I would like to, but I always hesitate. Some day.... Your albums are extraordinary! I had the most wonderful journey through your albums. I think: the people pictures are the best of your pictures! I have much to learn from you. You really show the soul of the place and make them look so beautiful, that I would like to visit there. - You should take pictures for travel agencies and for National Geographic! The Chorisia is a tree, I see more and more in the last years. There are many varieties. I see them here in a lot of colors, from pink to nearly purple, but I know only those 3 trees in that variety. I see them every day on my way to work. About the architecture of that Hundertwasser Railway Station: I wrote today some more explanations in the album: Here they are... The Railway Station in Uelzen was a project of the Jewish artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. He worked on a lot of architectural projects all over the world. Very famous are the houses he constructed in his hometown Vienna. But there are projects in all continents. If you put in the Webshot search the word Hundertwasser it will give you (till today) 355 pictures from his projects all over the world. The projects are much about ecology and being nice to nature. The Railway Station in Uelzen produces electricity by collecting the energy of the sun over the roofs of the platform. They even produce more electricity than the station needs. On all the roofs of the station are growing plants and even trees. The railway station in Uelzen was then already listed as a historic monument, that means there where not so much possibilities to change the original building. So the Hundertwasser changes where mainly changes of the additional buildings and the most impressive additions the big, columns, which are so typical for the artist.- I am so glad you liked my albums. Wow Suresh, what a nice album, you have captured the beauty of those buildings very good. Does it take long to build that kinds of buildings? I think it would if you were building them here, because of the weather. Till later Suresh, all the best, George from a sunny Shetland.

Hello Suresh, and thanks for your so nice comment on my Aveyron album ! I am just discovering your albums and this first one is WONDERFUL !!! I love the way you captured the beauty of Burma and especially the beauty of people : your shots are so expressive and offering more than superficial portraits. Through your shots, I can "touch" something else as if they were just in front of me ... I loved too the beautiful shots of Shwedagon Paya : a pure jewel. Thanks again for your mail and for the wonderful trip you offered me through your album. Friendly, Chantal

I was not disappointed - the whole album is beautiful. I especially like your lovely photos of the people - you seem to capture their hearts on film. I will stop by again to see the rest of your albums - I don't want to overload on one visit! Thanks and warm greetings from California, Beth

Hi Suresh: Thanks for your comments in my photo guestbook. I think we have a very similar interest and photography style! Yes, I think the people are the best part of traveling. I just viewed your Burma photo album and it brought back a flood of memories. November is my favorite time of year visit Burma. Just after the monsoons when the grass is still green and the air relatively fresh. I see you were there in Nov. 2003. You caputured my favorite time of day at Pagan...sunset when the glow on the temples highlight them. I see the reconstruction of the temples has progressed considerably since my visits in 1995 & 1996. Glad to see the govt. is putting back some of the money they collect from tourists in Pagan to reconstruct the stupa (top of temples). You can compare your images with mine take in the mid-1990's when many tops were still as they were. Anyway, I lead trip for the Sierra Club. I have another WEbshots sight where I have photos uploaded from trips I have lead or assisted. Take a look at: http://community.webshots.com/user/sierraclubphotos Stay tuned as I have trips to France, Nepal and Thailand in the next half year. Ultimately, I will upload images to my two Webshots sights. The heycarlson sight is more of my personal photos. Some of my personal trips, like to Burma, Laos, Indonesia... I look forward to viewing more images from your photo collection. BRAD

Hi, and thank you for your generous comments in my guestbook! This album is wonderful. I chose it because I recently saw an article in National Geographic about the old Burma road, and it left me wanting to see more. The subject here is very different from the article I read, and I enjoyed this album tremendously. It seems to me that no matter the subject, whether it's an ancient structure, an artifact, a scene from everyday life, or an individual portrait, you do a marvelous job of capturing it. Congratulations for job well done here, and thanks for providing me with such a beautiful experience. Jon.

Hello Suresh. So glad to meet you and that you found me. The beautiful girl drew me into this my first stop of your albums, and now I can hardly wait to see the rest of your photos! You present a world I may never get to see otherwise: the monasteries, shrines and pagodas; but most importantly are the interesting faces of the people you captured: the monks and novices, people at work and all those who were just kind enough to be photographed. You truly have a gift!!! --Nancy

Seeing the photos in this album rekindled in me a desire to visit Myanmar. I've been boycotting them because of the military dictatorship, but maybe I should give that up. I agree with Anna Oldenhave, you have a great sense of place, and shape, and color, and the spirit behind a face. Regards, Larry Caldwell
