the highlight of the trip to lake Titikaka was to come to these floating islands. tribes of ancient people came to live here, after they were driven away from their lands by stronger tribes. more than 50 islands, with about 40 people each still exist here. they live on the lake and do everything here, including growing vegatables and making fire. the island is made from the straws that grow on the water.
