The day before we went on the shaky airplane to see the lines, we went to a bizarre lecture by a friend of the late German Dr.- Maria Richie who studied the lines for almost 50 years. besides being a fanatic and a complete weirdo, this lady managed to convince us that the peruvian government and the organization that is supposed to preserve the lines are corrupted. it didn't take much work to convince us of that.
