Album Info:
This unique section of the Harpeth River know as The Narrows is characterized by the 180 feet span that separates a five mile bend in the river. Montgomery Bell was quick to see the potential of this close proximity. He reasoned that since the levels of these two aspects of the same river differed by some fifteen feet, a tunnel through the separating ridge could provide him with an excellent source of water power for his iron works.
