I stayed in Ely on every trip on US 6, since there aren't a lot of other towns nearby. Both times I arrived early in the day, and had to entertain myself. On the first trip, I spent most of my time relaxing in the park and in the library. On the second trip, we went on a train ride, had some Chinese food, and stayed at the historic Hotel Nevada (for around $20 for the night). We had a small problem at the hotel though. The rooms did not have deadbolts, and we had an unexpected visitor.
