Continental Divide - The first time we came through here, we were in a snowstorm (in June). When I came back through taking these pictures, I was amazed by the size of the mountains.

    • The Amtrak "Empire Builder" train from Portland/Seattle to Chicago passes this spot just north of the US-2 roadway. The monument was dedicated originally by President Roosevelt, and yes, it does resemble the Washington Monument in D.C.!

    • I remember coming thru here, with a load of apples on, chained up on both drive axles, and one axle on the trailer, it was about 200 below, and the wind was blowing 600 knots. But, I remember that big pole sticking up, but I had no idea the mountains were that close, you couldn't see them, it was in mid January of 91
