Green coffee beans will keep fresh for over two years. Roasted coffee beans are fresh for up to 5 days. Ground coffee starts to lose flavor almost immediately after roasting. There are means of retarding the loss such as freezing, keeping in the refrigerator and vacuum pack. None of these are completely successful. All are poor subsitutes for fresh roasted and fresh ground coffees.
