This is the large parlor of the Governor's Mansion; the two parlors remain open to one another. Around 1900, First Lady Mrs. Joseph Sayers made many changes to enhance the mansion. Above the mantels, she added mirrors which are tilted to reflect the crystal and candlelight. She also added the plaster cove molding to the ceilings in the parlors (see previous photo).
