Album Info:

The entry hall and grand staircase of the Governor's Mansion in Austin, Texas. Interesting story: in the 1890s, Governor Hogg's children used to amuse themselves by sliding down the wooden stair rail. After his youngest son fell off, Governor Hogg hammered raised tacks down the bannister, thus ending the children's (dangerous) fun. Visitors today can still see the filled holes left by those tacks.
