Discovered by Lt. Zebulon Pike it was named Pike's Peak by cartographers on their maps. It is one of Colorado's most famous landmarks. Katherine Lee Bates was so inspired by the view from the top that she composed the lyrics to "America the Beautiful".

  • I hiked up to the camp on Barr trail, that is about all i could do. It was so beautiful though.

  • I too saw this view from my window every day for eight years, and now I am in Missouri where there is nothing as gorgeous as those mountains. I hope to someday move back. Just a reminder...don't take the "little" things in life for granted.
