Album Info:

This is my landlord's wife and daughter carving up a watermelon for dessert. Fruits - especially watermelons - are a common dessert in China as opposed to the cakes and pastries we tend to eat. Notice they are wearing coats in the house. There is no central heating in southern China, so when it gets cool, they just bundle up in their houses, regardless of whether it's a mansion or a shack. It was about 10 degrees (Celsius) on this evening - cold on local standards.
