On the summit of New Delhi Raisina hill are the Indian Federal Government Buildings (Rashtrapati Bhavan ex Viceroy Palace); That iron gates were completely designed by the English Edwin Lutyens & by his assistant Herbert Baker (South Africa Pretoria designer); English King George V chose the opulent Durbar Day ceremonies with 562 Maharajas present (1911) to seal( with an ivory mallet and a silver trowel incrusted of amethysts) the first stone of the 8th Delhi new town which would replace Calcutta as British Rajput Capital.
