Construction site was chosen by the King Sha Jahan himself on the Yamuna River bank (just on the left side of this picture); He decided to let opened the river facade on north direction, at a calculated distance from the Red Fort, with the best perspectives possible and the best light effects on sunrises and sunsets.The four minarets put aside the central building are valorized by the distance and confer an inconstable elegance to the all monument.
