Peregrine Ridge, viewed from Alum Cave Bluff Trail
canonfather > albums > Great Smoky Mountains National Park...
Album Info:
Even before you reach the Alum Cave Bluff, you have this view of the Peregrine Ridge. The "eyelets" in the crest of the ridge are natural phenomena, and some naturalists have clambered out to them while monitoring the Peregrine population. But tourists and hikers are not allowed out there. Afternoon/Evening is a good time to hike this trail, allowing the sun to light up the bluff and backlight the ridge.
