Mt Cammerer and Smokies Spine, viewed from Foothills Parkway, Tennessee

Album Info:
This view is from one of several scenic turnouts on the Foothills Parkway at the NE corner of the Great Smoky Mountains NP. The abrupt 'nose' at the ridge crest horizon, about 1/5th in from the left, is Mount Cammerer, named after one of the early park directors. There is still (at last notice) an observation 'tower' there you can hike to from the Big Creek Ranger station. It's not really a tower, but an elevated gazebo with a stunning 360 degree view.
