The Mall was not completed at the time the tower was painted. It was false advertising to paint Florence Mall on the water tower. So they did the most cost effective fix. I love the picture also.

Love the picture.. it makes me homesick. The water tower actually said Florence Mall when it was first painted. The powers that be said "No! this is not an advertising billboard!" so they whited out parts of the M and made it Y'all. In this part of KY, we don't use the term "y'all" so the "fix" was even more annoying than the "mistake". Alot of people rolled they eyes for years at the tower. I know this is probably more history than you ever wanted, but I just want to say Thank you. I've been away from home for over 22 years now and its bitter sweet to see it.
