Album Info:

Through the ages, many rulers have built and rebuilt the city walls. Acre is one of the only cities whose walls have survived attacks of great armies for centuries. Most famous is the failed attempt of Napoleon Bonaparte to capture the city in 1799 using only his infantry. Napoleon anticipated that the city would fall withing two weeks, but after two months of tight siege and various dietary problems in Napoleon's ranks, the general gave up his plans for the Holy Land and sailed away.
