Sewejaartjies are hardy little shrubs (classified as Fynbos) that grow in higher places - like along the Houwhoek Pass. "Sewejaartjie" means literally "seven years" and the plants are called that, because the flowers are sort of dry and if picked, stay like this for years - even if one doesn't put the stems in water. These are light yellow, but one also get them in white and various shades of pink.
