For me, this photo is a gothic architecture classic, suggesting all four of the accepted "key features" of gothic architecture, while focusing on none of them. We see pointed arches in shadow, the springings of a gothic ribbed vault, sun projecting through magnificent screens of stained glass, and in the upper right hand corner of the photo, the shadow of one of the Cathedral's flying buttresses finds its way into the room by way of a clerestory window. December 4, 2004.
