This photo of a group of buildings at the site of Ek Balam was taken from atop a building called The Acropolis. In the background, to the left, you can see a large hill which is an unrestored building. One wonderful thing about Ek Balam is that it is not overwhelmed by tourists, possibly because it is still being excavated, and there are no facilities. We had been to all the major ruins such as Chichen Itza, Coba and Tulum, but this was our favourite.
