Album Info:
Calton Hill is unmistakable with its Athenian acropolis poking above the skyline. The acrompolis is in fact an unfiished monument - originally called the "National Monument". It was started a year after Napolean's defeat at Waterloo. Meant to be a replica of the Parthenon in Athens and as a monument to those who died in the Napoleonic Wars. There are also two observatories on Calton Hill, Lord Nelsons monument memorial (the tall tower) and the Dugald Stewart memorial (far left).
