Largest temple of Greece. Its realization was spread out over more than 700 years. Started in VIth century before Christ with Pisistrat, construction stopped fot want of means. It is Hadrian who finished the construction of the temple into 125. The proportions of the 104 Corinthian columns are impressive (17 m high). There remains only 15 columns today.

    • I love the little bits of history that you throw in. I tried to do that too, Makes the pictures so much more interesting, I think! Well done!! You were in Athens sometime early '05? We were there July / August of '05. I can't believe you took all these great pictures with NO CROWDS! It must have been a great experience. If you have time, trot on over to my albums ... some of the pics there are a little different ... you might enjoy!
