  • The original cabin was supposedly built in 1807 (see http://www.gatlinburg.com/things-to-do/culture-history/) - but I confident this is not that building - it is a relica - or, at best, a restoration. On the other hand, the brochure that comes with the car-tour says that Noah "Bud" Ogle and his wife Cindy started this farm (as it was back then) in 1879. Regardless of the 19th century history, I believe this is a 20th century building. I have a pbs special showing one of the Ogle descendents standing on the porch talking about how it was just like she remembered it, or something to that effect. I do not know the date the replica was built - perhaps someone in the park headquarter would know. There is a Great Smoky Mountains Historical Association that would be a great resource, I think.
