My name is Jonathan "Chris" Amore. I lived there from '85 til '89. Went to the elementary school, then to Bitburg Middle School. Now I live in Sacramento CA. I actually wrote and recorded a song called 'Pruem Housing' that chronicled some of my experiences there, funny huh? It all just seems like some faraway dream now. I still talk to my best friend from that time, Bill Briscolino. Another one of my close friends, Chris White, has since passed away. I ended up going to high school here in Sacramento with Angie Dyer. I still would like to get ahold of Jason Lee, William Bruels, Danny Duffy, Kevin Vargas, Carmella Battistelli, Michael Jolin, Nathan Glavitch, Charlie Osborne, Dawn Newton, Shenita Scott, Jennifer Gordon, Conrad Johnson, Jimmy Menefee, and others. Anyone who lived there can feel free to contact me johnnylovelfp@yahoo.com

Thanks for the photos! My father was in the AF (telecom) stationed in Prum Jan 1970-Aug 1973. This was our bldg! Our appt was the one on the top fl./this end of the bldg (fire escape wasn't there 1/2 bath was on other side of that window). For awhile there was a kids ctr in the basmt of our bldg, we'd enter it from the side you're looking at. Eventually, a teen center was built near bldg 4 &commissary. We had fabulous July 4th picnics w/fireworks, roasting a whole pig, music, dancing, etc. in the field behind this bldg.,played flag football & softball there & walked down to the creek's edge. Saw a military helicopter land in this field. I remember picking wild berries & playing on the top of the hill. Luckily, my parents loved to trave1,so my dad usu took his whole vacation during the summer & we'd travel throughout Europe for the whole month. Loved it then & still love to travel to Europe. I've been fortunate to travel there about eleven times since(though it's getting very expensive now (in 1970, $1 was worth 4 marks!) About 10 yrs ago my husband and I went to Antwerp so we made the time to go see Prum. At that time, the appts in the stairwell of this side of this bldg was being used for people who were mentally and/or physically disabled, but the appts in the other two stairwells were private appts (they had individual gardens to grow vegetables in the back of the other two thirds of the bldg. Our bldg was white, as seen here, but the others were yellow still (though they were still the drab/military yellow), in these pics, looks like they brightened the other bldgs up a bit. At that time, we were told that Bldg 2 and 3 were being used to house refugees from Eastern block counties. Occasionally I think of my years spent in Prum and wonder what became of the friends I had. I have fond memories, and have over the years reunited w/two of my close friends during that time period. If anybody reading this lived there during that time, I'd love to hear from you!
