Album Info:
Suzhou has many bridges and canals and is popularly known as 'The Venice of the East'. Marco Polo visited Suzhou in the latter part of 13th century and described it as a 'noble and great' city of great sages and physicians. Suzhou was also then a leading silk producer. Many wealthy residents including high officials of state of that time built many lovely gardens. Quite a few of them survive today. Nine out of them are considered 'World Heritage Sites' by UNESCO.

Caption is bang-on and describes the city perfectly. It does indeed look very much like Venice. The album is wonderful, Suresh! Cheers, Leslie
