Album Info:

CAPZ SHELL WINDOWS: The capiz windows in the second floor are installed as sliding panels framed in wood. Below the sills are smaller sliding panels called "ventanillas" protected by wooden balusters. Ventanillas are meant to slide open during hot summer days. Windows in the second floor are made of capiz shells framed in wood. In fitting the capiz shells, the thicker end of the shell (where two capiz shells are hinged to form a pair) must be the base. This will give a tighter fit and prevent water from seeping in. When replacing broken or missing pieces of capiz shells, the wooden pegs at the corners of the window frame must be knocked out so that the frame can be dismantled and missing or broken shells replaced.
