Album Info:

Moved to Mystic from Block Island, Rhode Island, this station is one of the last survivors of the Atlantic seaboard life-saving stations which were built from Maine to Florida. In stations such as this, there were usually six surfmen and a keeper. The roof platform was used for the surfmen to keep watch for ships in distress.
