Towering 65-ft (20 m) Tall Cape Bojeador Lighthouse
maryan54 > albums > Ilocos Lighthouse/Windmills
Album Info:
(DSC04191) Built of locally made brick, the octagonal shaper tower has an inner dimension of two metres and an exterior dimension of three and half metres. The lower one fourth of the tower is truncated whereas the remaining body of the shaft is straight. The top of the tower supports an overhanging balcony, which is surrounded and supported by decorative grill works. The attic where the cupola and lantern rests is cylindrical. What is notable about the Bojeador Lighthouse is that the original cupola and lantern is still intact. (Taken from http://heritageconservation.wordpress.co m/2006/07/27/cape-bojeador-lighthouse/)

And I get the benefit of your explanation below to Ding to better understand what you went through to get this shot. I am also always learning something. I'm glad you posted your explanation, Mary Ann.

Ah, you're almost right about this comment, Ding. But instead of kneeling down, I strayed from a path through some vegetation & walked a short way into an incline before I got stopped by this tall brick fencewall (see the preceding photo). There were trees above me so I had to search for a clearing just to get a good view of the tower above me. But since I was in an incline & was standing on loose dirt, I had to hold on to a low tree branch with one hand so I don't tumble down the hill while I took the photo using my other hand. So yes, it was a tricky position getting this shot, Ding. Thanks for noticing this, my friend.

I like this shot. I sometime think you get down on your knees to get this. I'm learning a lot here.
