This album is a resh of breath fair. I lived in Kaaawa before this was a park. It was jungle and grazing land for the Kualoa Ranch. This and surrounding lands were given to the original missionaries that colonized the island. Out of gratitude, they were given "from the sea to the top of the mountains". The people I grew up with were their decendants. The ultimate playground. They owned the property when Elvis was filiming "Blue Hawaii". At low tide you can walk to Mokolii (Chinaman's Hat)- but it drops off big on the other side and is shark feeding ground. I'm sitting here in Wyoming- re-living my years in Paradise. Mahalo nui loa.

So many tourists run up to the waters edge to take a photo of "the Chinaman's Hat", but this photo shows the beauty of just stepping back to take in the bigger picture. Excellent!
