"The Star temple of Avalon"

Album Info:
This mound on Windmill Hill, Glastonbury, has been partly identified as part of a probable "Moon observatory", using the Tor as a point of mark. I have been told that Notches on the Tor correspond with an alignment on this mound, or as Sun-sighting points In past times there would have been either megalithic stones or even wooden mark points to ascertain the position of the Sun and Moon at different times of the year; probably At Midsummer and Midwinter. Probably all of the alignments have now disappeared beneath a Housing estate which now surrounds the Mound, though old maps are being studied. Further pics follow. Some of these images have been renamed to coincide with the release of Nicholas R. Mann, and Philippa Glasson's new book about the mound, and its history. Called "The Star temple of Avalon". A truly wonderful investigation into the history of this mound and its possibilities. Riveting reading. Nick Mann's website: www.britishmysteries.co.uk
