  • I remember seeing this roller coaster many times through the windows of our family car as we drove past the park. We were never able to go to the park because it was restricted, but it must have been a fun place to be if you were the right color. Someday I hope to make it to Disney World so I can take a spin on the carousel and say that I finally got onto a ride from Olympic Park.

  • Great album. I used to go to Olympic park through the 50's and 60's. I once walked there from Hillside with a friend and her brother. We took her brother to the fun house.

  • What memories this pictures brings back. I grew up on 44th Street. My grandparents lived in the old stone house next to the Owners home for many years and then my family moved into it when I was 7. We lived there for 8 year and then my Uncle and his family moved into it. We use to go into the Park all the time because we had free passes from the owner. I spent many summer days and evening there at the pool, going to the circus and the skating rink. We also went into the park after it closed and several times climbed to the top of the coaster. Boy was that dumb! Anyway, thanks for sharing. June (Hood) Ginchereau

  • Momta2 thanks for your comments on my pictures. Where on 40th St did you live? I lived on 39th St in Irvington until the middle of kindergarden and then moved to Maplewood, on Menzel Ave, just up Boyden Ave from 40th St. I was just there last week, now I live in Ct, to bury my mother at Hollywood Cemetery in Union. By the way, my name is Jack and you can reach me at jwwag@sbcglobal.net. I remember the Mouse, never went on it. I was scared! I did go to the pool, right before it closed. I also use to get into the park though the woods after it closed and that is where I took the pictures. Hope to hear from you. thanks again Jack

  • Thanks for the photo. This really brought back memories. The roller coaster was called the Mouse. I went on it all the time with my father. Wet my pants on it then rolled back to his sitting in the mouse seat... He wasn't a happy camper. We lived right across the street from the park on 40th street. Went to the park most nights in the summer. Thanks again, I enjoyed the memories!
