Album Info:

More damages was done by an aerial bomb on May 3rd which pierced the loading platform floor. Personnel was taken from the battery to use as beach defense on May 5th, resulting in only partial demolition of Gun #2 at surrender. The Japanese managed to put one gun back into service in 1942, but there is no evidence it was ever fired by them. Further damage to the emplacement was caused by the American retaking in Feb. 1945, and damaged the guns and emplacements still exist. (Taken from the location's marker)
