Album Info:

King Ælfred's statue in Winchester Town Centre on High Street, right in front of Abbey Gardens. Usually the sword points up, symbolically exalting heaven and the bearer of the sword. Whereas this sword is cross-hilted & pointing downwards - resembling the cross. (In fact, as you approach the back of this statue from Chesil Car Park, you think that the statue is actually holding up a cross.) The pose, with forward raised foot, is indicative of 'subjugation'.
