Album Info:
My host-father wanted to take this picture of me as we walked around a popular 'hanami' spot at night. Wherever cherry blossoms bloom in a public park in Japan, you are likely to find people sitting near the trees on blue tarps with bento meals and some sort of alcohol. At night, it clearly becomes less about the trees and more about the company and booze. On this occassion, my host-parents took me out for a night walk to check out the culture. We just walked, but it was nice. My host-father made my camera do this and I'm not sure how. He's the artistic director of a graphic design company. The next day, I did a lunch-time hanami party with my University's track team in honor of our managers. A couple of nights ago I took part in the traditional nighttime version with some people I just met from my school (including the guy who slipped into the puke). It was a good time.
