Album Info:
(DSC04980) Typical Vigan House: This old two-storey building is made of durable concrete and hardwood with capiz shell windows at the second floor, and a traditional ground floor wooden Mullioned window that provides good ventillation to the ground floor whose thick walls is made of bricks. It also features a carriage door wide enough for a horse-drawn carriage to pass through. .... The timber house is with brick walls up to the first floor. The exterior appearance of such structures belies their real construction, as the main posts extend down to ground level and the brick walls are in reality curtain walls enclosing the ground floor. FACADE: The exterior design of the house follows classical tradition in being divided into bays by pilasters. In between these columns are segmental-arched windows, and the main entrance is usually located at the center of the facade.
