Album Info:

(DSC04324a) Kalbario Patapat Natural Park was established on April 20, 2007 by Proclamation no. 1275 encompassing 3,800 hectares (9,400 acres) with a buffer zone of 1,937 hectares (4,790 acres). The park was created under the National Integrated Protected Areas System (NIPAS) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. (Taken from http://www.facebook.com/pages/Patapat-Na tional-Park/135808943119314?sk=wiki) ..... Kalbario-Patapat National Park is on Pasaleng Bay, about 72 km north-west of Laoag City and 185 km west of Aparri, Cagayan. It is easily accessible, as it is adjacent to Maharlika National highway. Its topography is generally mountainous with rugged, steep terrain. Along the coast, there are white sandy beaches, sand dunes, rock formations and good diving sites. Inland, there are extensive old growth dipterocarp forests, including both lowland and mossy montane forest, and areas of cultivation and secondary growth. The forests here are important for the water supply to lowland agriculture and power generation projects, such as a mini-hydro plant in Pagudpud. This area has considerable potential for tourism, given the variety of natural features and the relatively easy access. (Taken from http://www.birdlife.org/datazone/sitefac tsheet.php?id=9702) .....
