Album Info:

I drove downtown to the State Capitol building to shoot a photograph for the United States Group challenge on State Capitols here at Red Bubble. I wanted to ensure that Hawai'i would be represented. As with any shooting location, I walked around the grounds to get a feel for the place checking out the different angles and lighting conditions before shooting. The Capitol was built only a few hundred yards from the street and it is surrounded by urbanization with buildings, traffic and people in every direction. It is a very difficult building to shoot in its pristine state. As I was walking around what is considered to be the back side of the building, this image in my mind stopped me dead in my tracks. The symbolism almost overwhelmed me and I knew I had an important photograph that must be shared with others.
