Album Info:
San Agustin Church, in Intramuros, Manila, was originally built on its present site by the Augustinian monks in 1571, and it is the mother church of the Augustian order in the Philippines. Winand Klassen, in his book Architecture in the Philippines, also notes that the church has an inverted vault-like foundation, and was the first earthquake-proof building in stone. This makes San Agustin as the only surviving 16th century edifice, and the oldest church in the Philippines.

Nice photo! It is one of those structures where a warm sepia shade would really make the era go back centuries ago. Regards, Glenn

Nice composition of the rustic church front. The tree leaves softened the architectural lines of the church, giving it a homey feeling.
