Album Info:

The square before one of my new favorite places: the Museo del Prado. A staggering collection, especially of the Spanish masters: Goya, Velasquez, and Dom. Theotokopoulos (el Greco). The most striking moment for me there was stumbling into the darkest corner of the museum to come upon Goya's "Saturn devours one of his children"-- a truly twisted, horrific image. The number of beloved masterpieces I saw that day may only be matched by the Louvre-- still don't know which was my favorite.. Also, after del Prado I made it my mission to see every el Greco I could while heading south, especially in Toledo. Anyhow, it was an intense and arresting day-- and happily so, as it was our only full one in Madrid.
