American Explorers, Lewis and Clark, while exploring the American Country, NW of the Mississippi River, tried to travel this wild river. They could not make it, and found another route. It is also called the River of No Return, after the movie of that name, starring Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable, the last movie for both of them, as they both died a few months after completing the movie.
