Album Info:
Tradition associates this monument to Absalom, King David's son, though archeologists date it to the Second Temple era. Absalom launched a failed revolt against his father. His end was bitter: While riding a mule, his hair got caught in a tree and he remained hang untill David's soldiers killed him. It is a tradition for fathers to bring their sons to hurl stones at the monument as an object lesson in what happens to rebellious sons.
