Album Info:

The Organ Pipe National Monument is just north of the Mexican Border at the bottom of Highway 85 about half way between Yuma and Tucson. This is the only area in the U.S. where you will find organ pipe cacti growing in their natural surroundings, although there are many just across the border in Mexico. There are many wonderful specimens in the monument, and a short hike up a hill and over the other side may find you surrounded by them. The roads in the park are patrolled heavily by the border patrol looking for ilegal immigrants, but we have never had any problem with them. This problem however has resulted in some of the loop roads being closed at certain times by the border patrol. Organ Pipe National Monument is well worth the trip to see these beautiful cacti in their natural sonoran desert environment. The park also contains many other kinds of cacti and will keep anyone with a camera very busy..
