Album Info:

Flag of Egypt - The Egyptian Flag was adopted on 4th October, 1984. It consists of three equal horizontal bands of red (top), white, and black. The ‘Eagle of Saladin' (a shield superimposed on a golden eagle facing the hoist side above a scroll bearing the name of the country in Arabic) is the national emblem of Egypt and it is placed at the middle of the white band of the Egyptian flag. The flag ratio of the Egyptian flag is described as 2:3 ( length 1½ times the height). The colors of the Egyptian flag are very significant. The red color symbolizes the historic period before the Revolution when the power of the deposed King Farouk, King of Egypt, was taken over by army officers. It is a period of struggle against the British occupation. White stands for the Revolution of 1952 which ended the monarchy without bloodshed while black is symbolic of the end of cruelty faced by the people of Egypt at the hands of Egyptian monarchy and British colonialism..
