Well designed line patterns and surprisingly aligned stitches of detail, where historical building spaces stand each other. Even Japan building guideline introduces intelligent European architectures having well calcurated shapes and tall, but unfortunatelly it's not easy to oversee ethical architecture subjects around Yokohama in Japan. peg353, I thank you for sharing good design patters of building architecture from London.

Beautful shot. Congratulations with your POTD. A litle comment: The name Big Ben actually refers not to the clock or the clock-tower itself, but to the thirteen ton bell hung within. The bell was named after the first commissioner of works, Sir Benjamin Hall. This bell came originally from the old Palace of Westminster, it was given to the Dean of St. Paul's by William III. Before returning to Westminster to hang in its present home, it was refashioned in Whitechapel in 1858. The BBC first broadcast the chimes on the 31st December 1923 - there is a microphone in the turret connected to Broadcasting House. Greetings from Roosendaal

Beautiful shot and congradulations on being on the home page of Webshots. I can't believe I am actually seeing a picture of Big Ben because 67 years ago I heard Big Ben chiming on our multi-band radio on New Years Eve. Since then, I am now 69 years young, I will not go without a clock in my home that sounds like Big Ben. I have two of them that chime every 15 minutes, one is a Grandfather clock, and the other one only chimes on the hour, but I love to hear them and listen for the chime every 15 minutes.
