Album Info:

The Survivor Tree stood virtually unthought about, nameless, for over one hundred years. The explosion stripped the tree of it's vegetation, impaled debris in it's trunk, and blackened it's bark from the burning cars parked beneath it. Initially it was thought that the elm was just another victim of the holocaust and would not survive. About one year after the bombing, it was noticed that the tree had miraculously budded back to life. Today, the Survivor Tree is flourishing again; however, it is certainly not being neglected. Special conduits were constructed to allow it's roots to pass through the surrounding wall to thrive in the soil and nutrients beyond. The elevated deck also has trap doors which allow maintainence personnel access to the roots beneath to assure the tree's health and longevity. A sapling from the seeds of this tree is planted at ground zero of the New York World Trade Center as well as other locations throughout America.
