Album Info:

(DSC02006) The volcanoes and the terrain of Camiguin Island pose limits on current and potential land use, and consequently, on the province's economic development. On the other hand, these qualities, particularly the volcanoes, make Camiguin unique and potentially enhance its attractiveness as a tourist destination. Despite the considerable destruction wrought by Hibok-Hibok's eruption in the early 1950s, Camiguin Island has flourished on its volcanic soils. The fertility of which has made the island conducive for the cultivation of rice, coconut, copra, and other agricultural products. (Taken from http://camiguin-info.blogspot.com/) ... Camiguin offers a good and fertile soil due to existence of volcanoes in area. This volcanic soil produces a variety of agricultural products which includes coconut, cassava, banana, camote, palay, corn, fruits, coffee and vegetables. But the most admired products of the island is the Lanzones, which whenever somebody would tackle the fruit it certainly tackles the island. In fact a festival which known as Lanzones Festival is celebrated in the island from September to October, because at this time large quantities of the fruits are yielded and is sold at discounted price. Aside from those products mentioned, the province also offers the best abaca fiber and is proud of its natural resources like sulfur deposits, geothermal energy, agricultural lands and fishing spots.
