First things first, we order our maas of beer (1ltr= 2pints), light or dark. Think you don't like beer?? After trying this you will, I promise, this is REAL beer, made from the finest ingredients under the German Purity Law from 1516, only hops, malt,water and barley (no headache here) :D..As we sit with the locals on the wooden benches singing and swinging with the Ooopapa Music, we watch in awe how our waitress arrives carrying 12 liter glasses on each arm (that's 12 kg - 25pounds just in liquid plus the weight of the heavy glasses!). We eat the crispy grilled ham hocks(unbelievably yummy, trust me), with red cabage and knoedel and kartoffel puffer (latkes, Yair, Roza and Galit know how much I LOVE latkes)...our sweet German friend Christina (tine53) is a perfect example of German hospitality as she offers to pay our bill for food and drinks. Say: Dankeschoen, everyone, and she continues along on the journey with us...what a nice surprise, as we exit,our dear friend evi (eveline193) from Bern Switzerland, has taken the 2 hour drive to join us also -Gruetzi, Evi..and just as we get ready to leave, oh joy there comes Vera from Vienna (Veralebail)..hallo Vera!

  • Oh God, how cool is this!! I have been here! I sat at a table on the right near the back, had a wonderful meal while listening to a wonderful live band. I was wearing a black leather mini skirt and thigh high boots trimmed in silver studs and black rabbit fur with a sequin bustier!! My hair was long and auburn, before it turned platinum. And someone gave me a wonderful silver medallion on a Bavarian blue and white ribbon to wear as a necklace, which I still have! I walked through that doorway in the back to the Ladies room and was amazed and so delighted to see how spotlessly shiny clean it was!! I tipped a sweet putzfrau who was sitting in a chair at a small table with a vase and a single rose and a white porzellan dish filled with coins and currency, just on the right of the doorway! This is wonderful to see again!
