Album Info:
One of the fantastic (and exciting) things about the Okefenokee Swamp Park is the fact that the 'gators roam freely in this portion without the restrictions of fences or pens. Yes, I suppose if you were crazy enough that you could stroll right on over and touch him. I overheard one of the docents stating that this particular lizard is over sixty years old and very arthritic. Still, would you trust him to be alone with your kids, grandkids or small pets?

Great shot. When I was there I didn't see any gators out & about - it was too cold I think. Have to go again when it's warmer !

He EVEN looks capable of taking you on!

He might be arthritic, but I'll bet those short legs could move the muscular body pretty fast.

Were any of them 'croaking' - not sure when their mating season is, but probably spring.

Hi there big guy. Sure hope you kept your distance. But then I guess if you hadn't, we wouldn't be seeing these pictures.
