Trinity Church, the Chapel of the Holy Trinity, was founded about 1135. In its time it has been used as a school, prison and court. Today it is the Regimental Museum of the Green Howards. A stone obelisk topped with a round ball is situated on the site of a medieval cross pulled down in 1771. It is commonly known as the 'butter ball' and is where local farmers would bring their produce to sell.
